Re: Bottom of door contacting and screeching against bottom of wings

I resolved this in the end by undoing the arch liners, loosening the 2 x bolts that hold the bottom of the wing to the frame near the door and pulling it away from the door and inserting an object to hold it in place while I re-tightened the 2 x bolts. nbsp Now the gap between the door and the arch is equal all the way down and I don'#039t get any rubbing when opening the door! nbsp Must'#039v

Hi guys,

I'#039ve lost all power to my head unit - was working fine on Saturday.

Yesterday I didn'#039t drive her but I did connect my Ring pump to the cigarette lighter to pump the tyres so guessing I must have blown a fuse somehow?

Does anyone know off the top of their head what I need? I'#039m in town today and was looking to pick something up before home

Managed to get the ECU connector out but not remove the ECU. Anti-theft cage in the way and I don'#039t have the right tool to remove it.

You've checked all the interior fuses too?

Unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions, bar an unorthodox one, ask ChatGPT. Tell it the car model (MK5 Golf), tell it what fuse it is and what you've tested already. This is how I decided to check the door connectors and then the siren, following my AI overlord's commands

Probably the metal seal between the downpipe and turbo, these engines are notorious for that even with all new hardware. Did you do any scans? I'm assuming you have changes the spark plugs?

Those adapters should be fine, the extra wire is if you want them to work in bi xenon. The wire has to be connected to a module inside the car and then coding.
With out the wire   connected you just have dip beam xenon.
I got the bi xenon function working on my last car  but not got round to it yet on my latest car.

Hi, it was just a like for like replacement of the broken indicator bulb holder.

Hi, I have the same issue. Did you use a t10 bulb holder?

If you did can you please tell me which wires did you connect to the t10 holder?

I have asked a garage for a quot

The mileage is just on 80k. Because it's so intermittent and random I haven't been able to actually get out of the car when it's doing it, to try and locate it. It always seems to be at traffic lights and never when I'm parking up. If it does it and I'm able to get a video I will.

After my 1600 km to Croatia I had a good Shake down of my ED30😎#128526
Suspension wise everything is done now. Maybe a 10 - 20 mm drop for good looks
but for driving on the road it is great!😍#128525
Brake wise I must admit that the brakepedal travel is more then before… so last week when I was there, I ordered a 25mm brake master cylinder to replace the 23mm unit.
Hope to g

Looks like this thread has not been updated in a gazillion years but I am also having this same issue now. Just for info my rail pressure is equal to the 6.5 bar low side pressure after being sat over night. This is in the UK so pretty cold ambient. I also have replaced all fuel injectors around 6 months ago for reference and still getting the stumbling start.

I use 5W40 in spring/summer, and then 5W30 in autumn/winter in increase warm up times.

Works well for me.

if the car is stationary and i flick the switch to on should the light come on the dash?

Depends on the year of the dash. My 06 jetta had the light on when I switched the cruise control to the on position while my 09 jetta only has the light come on when cruise control is a

Last Poster: lazy in Mk5 General Area on April 02, 2025, 08:53:26 pm
That's good that you can wait for nice weather and go out and enjoy it. Plus hopefully you'll get many more years. It's nice you've had it so long, you don't have to think about what work may need doing and wether it had a hard life.

I was going to put an RCD 330 in with the wireless android and carplay dongle, but decided against it because apparently there are some fakes getting supplied.
I then decided to get a JVC M785DBW . I haven'#039t had a chance to really get in to using it but my initial thoughts are positive. I still need to route the microphone properly and wire the live in properly.
